Forth Ports to install digital berth planning tool at London Container Terminal

Forth Ports, a port owner of the port of Tilbury in the United Kingdom, has decided to use Portchain Quay as Port of Tilbury’s London Container Terminal-wide berth planning tool, including intelligent projections.

The installation of Portchain Quay is expected to be a significant step in the London Container Terminal’s digitisation journey, as various critical planning procedures will be digitised to increase real-time information interchange, transparency, and process efficiency throughout the terminal.

“As we continue our investment in the digitisation of our busy container terminal we have chosen Portchain Quay to assist our teams in providing reliable real-time berth planning and optimization. Portchain Quay will improve the planning process for both the terminal and our customers, providing intelligent real-time updates to our planners and more accurate berth predictions for our customers,” stated Ross McKissock, director of unitised at Forth Ports.

“We are excited to collaborate with London Container Terminal and help them accelerate their digitisation journey while providing them with vessel estimated time of arrival (ETA) and port stay prediction tools to optimize their operations,” stated Thor Thorup, CCO & co-founder of Portchain, a provider of berth alignment solutions for container terminals and carriers.
