The French terminal operator Terminaux de Normandie has made a repeat order of 12 diesel-electric straddle carriers to Kalmar.
The new equipment is expected to enhance operations of Terminal Normandie MSC & Terminal Porte Océane located at the Port of Le Havre. Both terminals are part of Terminal Investment Limited’s portfolio and are MSC’s and 2M Alliance’s main French gateway terminals with barge and rail intermodal connectivity to the European market.
The order was booked in 2022 first-quarter order intake of Kalmar’s mother company, Cargotec, and the delivery of the new straddle carriers is expected during the fourth quarter of the year.
The order follows the delivery of a similar order booked in the third quarter of 2021.

Opened in 2007, Terminal Porte Océane features Le Havre’s largest ship to shore (STS) cranes, and it is capable of handling ultra large container vessels. The terminal has an annual capacity of 550,000 TEU.
The Kalmar Straddle Carriers delivered to Terminaux de Normandie will have a four-high stacking capacity and a lifting capacity of 50 tons.
