GAC appoints new group vice president for Asia Pacific and Indian Subcontinent

The global provider of integrated shipping, logistics and marine services, Gulf Agency Company (GAC) has appointed Daniel Nordberg as the new group vice president for the Asia Pacific and the Indian Subcontinent region.

Nordberg who joined GAC in 2001 as a financial controller, will now take over the duties of Lars Bergstrom, who retired after more than 26 years in GAC.

In the two decades since joining the company, Nordberg served in a variety of roles, gaining experience in the organisation’s three core business areas: shipping, logistics and marine services.

Most recently, Nordberg served as general manager of GAC Qatar, since 2016. During his time in Qatar, the company experienced growth, with new yards and warehouses, and the opening of Ras Laffan office to further support the country’s offshore sector. Additionally, during the same period, GAC Qatar was also one of the pioneers in the Qatar Free Zone.

“Our strategy of management rotation broadens competence and outlook to ensure the best leadership and service to our customers worldwide,” said GAC Group president, Bengt Ekstrand, who went on to add that Nordberg brings fresh energy and a wealth of experience from three regions of the GAC world to his new role.
