GAC establishes new office in Spain

Global provider of shipping and logistics services GAC Group opened the first of its many planned offices in Spain on 8 November at the port of Algeciras.

Algeciras, located in the province of Cadiz, is Spain’s largest port, with more than 10 kilometres of docks serving all types of freight and passenger traffic.

GAC Spain’s aim is to offer a range of integrated brokerage, husbandry and spare parts logistics services for up to 60,000 ships that transit the Straits of Gibraltar between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean every year.

It is important to note that GAC Gilbraltar opened three years earlier. As part of the partnership between the two offices, GAC Gibraltar will provide ship repair and fuel services to vessels docked in Algeciras.

“Our team at GAC Gibraltar will work closely with the new office in Algeciras to offer GAC’s new and existing customers added value,” commented Thomas Okbo, GAC’s Group vice president, Europe & Africa.

The new office in Spain is expected to enhance GAC’s global coverage and add another service base to those the company has already had in key transit ports such as Singapore, Suez, Panama and the Bosphorus.
