The first delivery of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Scandinavian energy company Gasum to the 2021-built, 1,380 TEU vessel, Containership Borealis, off Bornholm, Denmark, marked the start of the collaboration between Gasum and CMA CGM’s subsidiary Containerships.
Containerships seems to be an early supporter and pioneer in the adoption of LNG as a marine fuel and Gasum aims to share the same attitude.
“We are eager to help the whole CMA CGM Group in its continual efforts to significantly reduce emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases,” said Gasum in a post on social media.
At the same time, Containerships is also boosting its environmental performance onshore by using LNG-fuelled trucks supported by Gasum’s network of LNG stations in Finland.
