GCMD and GSBN ink collaboration agreement to boost decarbonisation

The Global Shipping Business Network (GSBN), a blockchain technology consortium providing a data exchange platform, signed a Knowledge Partnership Agreement with the Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation (GCMD).

By facilitating the secure and scalable sharing of data relevant to decarbonisation activities, the partnership aims to assist in overcoming the transparency gap between digitsation and decarbonisation.

GCMD is a non-profit organisation that aims to assist the shipping industry in lowering Green House Gas (GHG) emissions to meet the International Maritime Organization’s 2030 and 2050 goals by developing standards for future fuels, piloting low-carbon solutions, funding innovative projects, and fostering stakeholder collaboration.

Under the terms of this collaboration agreement, GCMD and GSBN will work together to develop use cases and co-design related studies and pilots to demonstrate the efficacy of employing a blockchain platform to allow large-scale decarbonisation of the marine industry.
