Gebrüder Weiss Supervisory Board appoints new chairman

At the company’s Supervisory Board meeting on 19 June, Wolfgang Niessner, the previous long-time Gebrüder Weiss Management Board chairman, was appointed as the new Gebrüder Weiss Supervisory Board chairman.

Gebrüder Weiss said it can rely on Wolfgang Niessner as chairman of the Supervisory Board since he has great leadership credentials and a long and very successful career in the logistics business.

Since 2005, Wolfgang Niessner, CEO of Gebrüder Weiss, has led the firm through a period of constant globalisation and economic success, until he handed over operational control to Wolfram Senger-Weiss at the end of 2018. He was appointed to the Supervisory Board in 2019.

In addition, Rudolf Christian Stiehl, who has held the position for the past four years, is going to be replaced by Wolfgang Niessner. Stiehl will step down from the Gebrüder Weiss Supervisory Board after 21 years as a shareholder representative.
