Gemini partners announce services between Turkey/Italy and USEC

The new container shipping alliance, Gemini Cooperation, of Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd is expected to commence operations in February 2025 and the two partners have already begun announcing new/updated services covering the same regions.

Danish ocean carrier Maersk has announced the launch of a new service offering a direct connection of Turkey North & West and South Italy with the United States East Coast.

Maersk said the new service will be called TA10, will commence on 1 February 2025, and will complement the Gemini network. The service will turn around in eight weeks with the following rotation:

Ambarli (Turkey) – Izmit Korfezi (Turkey) – Izmir Aliaga (Turkey) – Salerno (Italy) – Leghorn (Italy) – Tangiers (Morocco) – Newark (US) – Norfolk (US) – Savannah (US) – Port Everglades (US)

Maersk will publish further service details (transit times, first vessel, etc.) in the next weeks.

Meanwhile, the German partner of the alliance has made updates on two of its existing services between Turkey/Italy and the US East Coast, which will also be effective in February.

Hapag-Lloyd has announced the following setup for its Turkey East Coast Express (TEX) and Atlantic Loop 7 (AL7) services:

TEX new rotation: Istanbul (Turkey) – Izmit (Turkey) – Aliaga (Turkey) – Salerno (Italy) – Livorno (Italy) – Tangier (Morocco) – New York (US) – Norfolk (US) – Savannah (US) – Port Everglades (US)
