Temporary interruption of Genoa’s highway – MSC strengthens rail network

Last weekend a bridge incident arose in the North of Italy causing traffic issues in Liguria and Piedmont.

Even though, today all the highway networks connecting the port of Genoa to Piedmont and the Po Valley have been restored (both the A26 / Genova <> Gravellona Toce as the A6 / Savona <> Torino have been reopened through a by-pass that allow its usability), the infrastructural situation remains unstable.

Traffic disruptions are heavy, with long queues and longer journey, which naturally affect land transport network impacting both its punctuality and efficiency.

In response to this matter, MSC has strengthened its rail network, increasing the number of trains to and from the port of Genoa.
