A crew member of the 3,500TEU boxship Gerhard Schulte, which is currently located close to Rotterdam Port, is being quarantined after a mariner tested positive for Covid-19, according to vessel operator Hapag-Lloyd.
All other crew members on the container ship are being isolated, monitored and will be tested as well. According to a Hapag-Lloyd representative, the results are expected to be known tomorrow morning.
“We are currently evaluating any potential impact on vessel, cargo operations and berthing dates for subsequent ports of the rotation and will provide these details as soon as they are determined,” said Hapag-Lloyd in its announcement.
The 2006-built container ship Gerhard Schulte is deployed on the Atlantic Loop 1 (AL1) service, which is operated by THE Alliance of Hapag-Lloyd, ONE, Yang Ming and HMM.
