Giga container ship OOCL Piraeus arrived at Piraeus port in Greece

OOCL’s giga container vessel called the Port of Piraeus in Greece on 10 July in a special event. The 24,188 TEU container ship OOCL Piraeus docked at Piraeus Container Terminal, which is owned and operated by Chinese shipping giant COSCO.

According to a statement, OOCL Piraeus, which is one of the largest container ships in the world, received its name in recognition of the important role of the Greek container port in the international freight transport industry.

OOCL Piraeus has joined OOCL’s LL3 route since June calling at 13 ports on an 84-day round trip connecting South East Asia with North West Europe. The vessel sails under the following port rotation:

Shanghai (China) – Xiamen (China) – Nansha (China) – Hong Kong – Yantian (China) – Cai Mep (Vietnam) – Singapore – Piraeus (Greece) – Hamburg (Germany) – Rotterdam (the Netherlands) – Zeebrugge (Belgium) – Valencia (Spain) – Piraeus – Abu Dhabi (UAE) – Singapore – Shanghai

OOCL Piraeus is the second ship, after OOCL SPAIN, which called at Piraeus in April this year, of a series of 12 mega container vessels ordered by OOCL and built in China by Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co. Ltd. (DACKS).
