Global Ports strengthens Petrolesport operations with new terminal equipment

Global Ports, Russia’s major port and terminal operator, has purchased three reachstackers and eight terminal tractors for its multipurpose marine terminal Petrolesport in the Big port of Saint Petersburg.

The reachstackers were produced by China-based SANY equipment manufacturer and the terminal tractors were supplied by Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturer SHACMAN.

Two of the reachstackers have a loading capacity of 45 tonnes and the other one has a capacity of 10 tonnes. The reachstackers are designed for loading, unloading and stacking containers at the storage yard and the railway fronts, while the terminal tractors will be used for in-port container transportation.

Global Ports aims to reinforce Petrolesport’s fleet and improve the flow of operations with the new machines.

The Russian operator said that all vehicles are equipped with an integrated enhanced video control system, which increases operational safety and improves driver comfort.

Petrolesport is located in the Big Port of St. Petersburg and is the largest multifunctional terminal facility in the country. The terminal includes a container terminal, cars and ro-ro handling terminals and a bulk and general cargo terminal.
