Gulftainer and VertomCory to create strategic shipping joint venture

Gulftainer, a global operator of ports and terminals, and VertomCory, a port agency servicing the shipping and logistics sector, announced their plans to establish a strategic joint venture in the Middle East and the United States.

The joint venture will offer a comprehensive range of services, including vessel and port agency, customs clearance, logistics, offshore supply, consumables, bunkering, ship-to-shore equipment, and diving services.

Additionally, it will provide insurance, husbandry, hub services, and management of information and documentation. The venture aims to launch its operations in the UAE, with plans for gradual expansion into other GCC countries, offering innovative, digitally-driven solutions to ship owners, charterers, and cargo owners.

“We look forward to working together on delivering this strategic joint venture with VertomCory, which will enhance Gulftainer’s value proposition and further provide a seamless experience to our regional and international customer base. This partnership will leverage our complementary capabilities and build on our extensive network and experience. The joint venture will be an extension of our existing service offering and deliver additional value to our customers further enhancing Gulftainer’s position as a leading end-to-end supply chain and logistics provider,” stated Simon Aynsley, Chief Commercial Officer of Gulftainer.

The announcement was made during a reception event in the Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai, UAE, attended by 120 regional and international customers from both companies. During the event, Peter Wilson, CEO of VertomCory and Simon Aynsley, Gulftainer’s Chief Commercial Officer (on behalf of Peter Richards, Group CEO of Gulftainer) emphasized the benefits of partnering with the new shipping agency.
