German ocean carrier Hapag-Lloyd has announced changes in its Mediterranean-South America West Coast (MSW) service, which will be effective from 20 March.
Hapag-Lloyd will introduce the port of Vigo in Spain to the MSW rotation as the initial port of call in the Mediterranean. Through this addition, the Hamburg-based line aims to offer expedited transit times to northern Spain and Portugal markets.
Moreover, the port of Tangier in Morocco will now exclusively function as a transshipment hub and will no longer be included in the new rotation, according to the company. Additionally, Hapag Lloyd will include a stop at the Italian port of Salerno in the service rotation, extending cargo coverage from the northern to the southern regions of Italy.
