Hapag-Lloyd announces new GRI from Asia to American destinations

Hapag-Lloyd has announced a new General Rate Increase (GRI) that is set to take effect for cargo shipments from Asia (excluding Japan) to Latin America, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America, beginning 1 March 2024.

This increase applies to all 20′ and 40′ Dry containers, including High Cube equipment and 40′ Non-operative reefers, and will remain valid until further notice.

The details of the rate increase are as follows:

  • 20′ Dry Container: US$500
  • 40′ Dry Container: US$800
  • 40′ High Cube Container: US$800
  • 40’ Non-operative Reefer Container: US$800

The geographical scope of this increase encompasses shipments from Asia (excluding Japan), covering the following countries: China, Macau, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Laos, Brunei, Taiwan, and Hong Kong to Latin America, Mexico, Caribbean, and Central America covering the following countries: Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Chile, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama, Venezuela, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay.
