Hapag-Lloyd announces more void sailings

Hapag-Lloyd has announced void sailings for the India Express Service (IEX) due to Covid-19 related measures in several countries, which are resulting in operational challenges and decreasing demand, according to the line.

The following IEX sailings will be amalgamated with fortnightly void positions:

The following service options can be offered as an export alternative out of India Zone 2 & Bangladesh:

  • Cargo ex Visakhapatnam, Krishnapatnam, Chennai & Bangladesh can be covered by FE5 via Colombo ONE APUS 004W on ETD Colombo 11 April 2020 and ETA Rotterdam 30 April 2020
  • Mediterranean Cargo can be routed via Singapore on MD1 & MD2

In addition to this, the German company has announced that the Barcelona Express 039W will have a void sailing, due to Easter holidays.

Montreal ETA 27 April 2020
Hapag-Lloyd has the following alternatives for the void sailing on MCA.

Shipments to Montreal /US-Midwest can be routed via:

  • AL6 via New York
  • AL7 via Halifax

The Hamburg-based shipping firm has also announced the following void positions as part of its vessel maintenance scheme (VMS):

Far East Pacific 5 (FE5 Asia – North Europe Service)

  • Voyage 251463/ 008W, ETA Laem Chabang 22 April 2020
  • Voyage 251462/ 009E, ETA Rotterdam 24 May 2020
