Hapag-Lloyd enhances North Europe – America services

German ocean carrier Hapag-Lloyd announced changes in two services, connecting North Europe with Latin and North America.

In particular, Hapag-Lloyd’s Atlantic Loop 5 (AL5) service, which provides links between North European ports and North American regions, will now include a new weekly eastbound call at the port of St. John in Canada.

The updated rotation of the AL5 service will be as follows:

Southampton (UK) – Le Havre (France) – Rotterdam (The Netherlands) – Hamburg (Germany) – Antwerp (Belgium) – Halifax (Canada) – Port Everglades (US) – Cartagena (Colombia) – Balboa (Panama) – Los Angeles (US) – Oakland (US) – Rodman (Panama) – Balboa – Cartagena – Caucedo (Dominican Republic) – Saint John (Canada) – Halifax (Canada) – Southampton

Furthermore, the Hamburg-based company decided to add a 10th container ship to its North Europe – South America Westcoast (SWX) service. Therefore, Hapag-Lloyd’s 10,500 TEU Santo Express will be deployed on the 70-day rotation of the service with an estimated time of arrival at the port of Cartagena on 17 June.

Additionally, Hapag-Lloyd has announced another update on the SWX service, reinstating the port of Le Havre to the service rotation. This change will take place on 2 September 2023. More specifically, the 10,589 TEU Guayaquil Express is expected to reach the French port on 2 September.

The updated SWX service port rotation will be Rotterdam – London Gateway (UK) – Hamburg – Antwerp – Le Havre – Caucedo – Cartagena – Manzanillo (Panama) – Buenaventura, (Colombia) – Posorja (Ecuador) – Callao (Peru) – San Antonio (Chile).
