Hapag-Lloyd is still pushing Asia rates upwards

Hapag-Lloyd has announced new general rate increases (GRI) from East Asia to Australia, the US and Canada for all dry, reefer, non-operating reefer, tank, flat rack and open-top containers, which will be effective from 1 September.

North East Asia to Australia 

  • US$300/20’
  • US$600/40’

Middle East and Indian Subcontinent to Australia

  • US$150/20’
  • US$300/40’

South East Asia to Australia

  • US$150/20’
  • US$300/40’

East Asia to North America (US and Canada)

  • US$960/20′
  • US$1200/40′

The Hamburg-based carrier has also published increased ocean tariff rates for all cargoes for 20’ and 40’ general purpose, including high cube containers, on the trades from the Middle East and Pakistan to North Europe and the Mediterranean, effective from 15 August:

East Asia is defined as being the countries/districts of Japan, Republic of Korea, China/Taiwan, China/Hong Kong, China (PRC), China/Macau, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, The Philippines and Russian Pacific Coast Provinces.
