Hapag-Lloyd revises documentation cutoffs for US ports of loading

Hapag Lloyd is going to streamline documentation cutoffs for US ports of loading beginning from 18 September 2023.

The most significant improvement will be a revised timeline, with a useful 24-hour window before the FCL cutoff for Hapag-Lloyd’s clients to submit their complete and accurate shipping instructions.

“This change aims to treduce the need for dummy details or corrections after the cutoff,” said the German shipping company.

According to the firm, charges will also be avoided. Clients can now avoid pre- and post-sailing amendment charges by submitting documentation within the new timeframe.

This transition will take place on a gradual basis. Not all services will be altered on 18 September, instead, the modifications will be implemented in stages.

Hapag-Lloyd said this method gives clients plenty of time to gradually adjust to the new processes.
