Hapag Lloyd sets new GRIs in Latin America and India

The German carrier Hapag-Lloyd has announced the implementation of new General Rates Increases (GRIs) for sailings destined to India and Latin America that will take effect in September.

Particularly, on 1 September Hapag Lloyd will apply a rate increase of US$100 per dry container of all sizes from the Saudi Arabian Ports of Jeddah, Jubail and Dammam, to Mundra and Nhava Sheva in India.

In addition, the Hamburg-based shipping company will push up its rates from the port of Callao in Peru to the ports of Guayaquil in Ecuador and Buenaventura in Colombia.

The GRIs will be US$250 per unit for dry containers destined to Guayaquil and US$100 per dry unit transferred to Buenaventura. Both rate increases will begin on 23 September.
