Hapag-Lloyd about the six carriers’ collaboration

Hapag-Lloyd announced an enhanced coverage for the Mediterranean to North America East Coast market.

The new AL6 service is consolidating the AL6 service (operated by Hapag-Lloyd, Ocean Network Express, Yang Ming), and the Amerigo service (operated by COSCO, CMA-CGM, OOCL) into one larger loop.

It will be operated jointly by Hapag-Lloyd, Ocean Network Express, Yang Ming, COSCO, CMA-CGM and OOCL. The rotation is expected to be as follows:

La Spezia – Genoa – Fos – Barcelona – Valencia – New York – Norfolk – Savannah – Miami – Algeciras – La Spezia

Hapag-Lloyd, Ocean Network Express, Yang Ming will also continue to offer Livorno via the redesigned ZIM-operated AL7 service as part of the continuing cooperation between THE Alliance and ZIM. Further to this Livorno coverage on the AL7, we inform you that Hapag-Lloyd will continue its well-established cooperation with ZIM Lines on this service also within the Eastern Mediterranean Area.

The complete port rotation of the new AL7 service is expected to be:

Mersin – Ashdod – Haifa – Aliaga (Izmir) – Piraeus – Livorno – Barcelona – Halifax – New York – Norfolk – Savannah – Valencia – Tarragona – Mersin

Combining the strengths of both loops and connections to the Black Sea and Levant Areas via Hapag-Lloyd’s comprehensive feeder network, Hapag-Lloyd will continue to offer a very comprehensive port coverage and very good transit times to its customers.

Above service enhancements are slated to begin in December 2018 and are partially subject to regulatory approval.
