The German carrier Hapag-Lloyd has decided to halt all shipments from Brazil to the ports La Guaira and Puerto Cabello in Venezuela, in its US Gulf – South America East Coast (GS1), with immediate release.
The Hamburg-based shipping company explained that these changes in cargo acceptance constitute measures to clear backlogs in some ports, as the global logistics industry is facing an “unprecedented strain.”
Hapag-Lloyd expects this situation to last until the end of February. The liner operator also stated that it will keep customers informed of the developments concerning these changes.
