Hapag-Lloyd teams up with Ankeri Solutions in “transformative” partnership

German shipping company Hapag-Lloyd has entered into a contract partnership with Ankeri Solutions, an innovative software firm specializing in maritime sustainability solutions.

This strategic alliance aims to bolster Hapag-Lloyd’s bold decarbonization agenda by harnessing their longstanding relationship and leveraging Ankeri’s advanced toolset.

In response to the pressing call for eco-friendly shipping practices, Hapag-Lloyd has taken a significant step by choosing Ankeri to deliver a comprehensive suite of tools tailored to streamline and expedite the decarbonization journey for its fleet, according to the statement.

“We are thrilled to join forces with Ankeri on our decarbonization journey. This collaboration marks a significant step in our continuous efforts to reduce the carbon footprint of our fleet and is in line with our goal to become net-zero carbon by 2045. By integrating Ankeri’s state-of-the-art digital tools, we aim to contribute meaningfully to more sustainable shipping operations,” stated Arne Maibohm, Hapag-Lloyd’s director of decarbonization, who expressed enthusiasm about the partnership.

According to the announcement, the “game changing” collaboration between Hapag-Lloyd and Ankeri underscores a shared dedication to driving innovation in the maritime sector. Ankeri’s state-of-the-art technology, operational since 2018, empowers Hapag-Lloyd to assess, optimize, and monitor various facets of its fleet’s energy efficiency, thereby contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

“We are proud to support Hapag-Lloyd in their commitment to sustainability. Our innovative software solutions are tailored to empower shipping companies to leverage their data in their journey towards decarbonization. We look forward to working closely with Hapag-Lloyd and contributing to their success in achieving their ambitious environmental goals,” noted Kristinn Aspelund, CEO of Ankeri Solutions.
