Hapag-Lloyd to apply congestion surcharge at port of Mersin

Hapag Lloyd has announced it will implement a congestion surcharge (CGD) for containers bound for the port of Mersin in Türkiye.

The surcharge will be US$150 per TEU and US$300 per FEU for dry and reefer containers.

Hapag-Lloyd said the surcharge will be effective from 17 July for containers with the following “geographical scope”:

  • From the Middle East & Indian Subcontinent to Mersin
  • From the Far East to Mersin

The Middle East & Indian Subcontinent covers the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Jordan, Qatar, Bahrain, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, while the Far East coverage comprises Brunei, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Cambodia, Korea, Myanmar, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam.
