Hapag-Lloyd to deploy extra loaders to US East Coast

Hapag-Lloyd has announced it will offer extra loaders connecting India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to the US North East ports due to significantly increased demand in the US.

The German carrier has published the following list with the schedule of the vessels sailing in service IN2, which will start their voyages in late May.

Schedules for May & June 2021:

The voyage rotation of IN2 service is: Port Qasim – Nhava Sheva – Mundra – New York – Norfolk – Savannah – Charleston – New York – Port Qasim. RDO Fortune has a capacity of 5,000TEU while the Argolikos and Ikaria have capacities of around 4,400TEU.

“Our transit times for these loaders will be in line with the current Indamex service, which will continue to sail uninterrupted,” noted Hapag-Lloyd, which believes that these extra loaders will improve the connection to the US and will put “some relief on the continued extremely high demand.”
