Hapag-Lloyd to update Conosur service

Hapag-Lloyd has unveiled a new port rotation in the Conosur service which will take effect from the week 44, beginning 26 October.

The new rotation will be Itapoa – Rio de Janeiro – Santos – Rio Grande and the first vessel performing it will be Jogela 44 westbound, calling Itapoa on 28 October and Rio Grande on 5 November.

In addition, the German carrier has announced that the 3,400TEU container ship Nordic Beijing 45 westbound will be phased out of the Conosur service in order to perform maintenance during a planned dry docking, while the replacement vessel will be the 3,430TEU Carlotta Star 45 westbound.

With those changes, Hapag-Lloyd said in its announcement it aims to enhance the quality of the Conosur service.

Nordic Beijing 45 westbound

  • After Patagonia operations, the vessel will proceed directly to Santos, ETA: 2 November
  • Itapoa, Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande will be omitted in order to comply with dry dock schedule.

Carlotta Star 45 westbound

  • The vessel will perform phase in Conosur Service in Santos, ETA: 10 November and then will proceed to Itapoa, ETA: 11 November
  • The vessel will skip Rio Grande and Rio de Janeiro due to delays in its repositioning voyage.
