Hellmann proceeds with digitalisation through BlueBox Systems

A successful collaboration between BlueBox Systems, a developer of intelligent air cargo tracking solutions, and Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, one of Germany’s largest medium-sized logistics companies, demonstrates that a combination of an established company and an innovative start-up can deliver innovation, digitalisation, and sustainable growth.

“BlueBox Systems delivers fresh ideas, agility, new technologies and above all speed – for example in implementation – to this partnership. They are on fire about their product and are very determined,” explained Stefan Borggreve, who as Chief Digital Officer and member of the Executive Board is responsible for innovation and transformation at Hellmann, during the panel discussion entitled “Corporates vs. Start-ups: Why it takes 2 to scale!”.

Another advantage, he stated, is the mentality of BlueBox Systems. “When working with start-ups, we benefit from the fact that they can experiment easily, due to their lean structures, and thus learn very quickly,” said Borggreve.

Hellmann is a global full-service provider that has been utilising BlueBox Air, an intelligent air freight tracking system from BlueBox Systems, for two years and has branded it “SmartAir!” as a white-label solution.

According to a statement, with a few clicks, the web-based tracking service allows you to monitor the whole air freight. Because the BlueBox Systems system has access to more than 130 airlines and 1,600 airports, users can track the status of the aircraft and thus the cargo in real time at any moment.

They can also determine the anticipated arrival time, avoiding any delays and saving costs. The tracking tool produces around 40 million status updates every day.

“When collaborating with start-ups, it’s important for us to give them access to resources and mentoring as soon as possible, and without a lot of bureaucracy,” stated Lena Haartje, key account manager of Smart Solutions at Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.
