HMM and KORAIL team up for eco-friendly intermodal transportation

HMM has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) to enhance inland rail transportation.

The agreement covers utilizing domestic rail infrastructure for refrigerated cargo and establishing an ‘Intermodal One-Stop Transportation System’ that connects rail and maritime freight.

This cooperation is expected to contribute to developing a low-carbon logistics transportation system and reduce carbon emissions.

HMM and KORAIL will team up to improve the efficiency of a new container yard, which KORAIL is scheduled to secure. This partnership aims to build a new distribution hub and collaborates to build an international multimodal transport network for reefer containers.
