HMM announces new service linking Far East, India and Mediterranean

South Korea’s major ocean carrier HMM will launch a new service connecting Far East Asia, India and the Mediterranean Sea (FIM) aiming to deliver more comprehensive transportation options in these regions.

The service is expected to commence from the port of Busan in South Korea on 6 August, and the round trip will take 84 days. The 11,000 TEU boxship HMM Blessing will be the first vessel for this new service.

The port rotation of HMM’s new service will be Busan (South Korea) – Kwangyang (South Korea) – Shanghai (China) – Ningbo (China) – Shekou (China) – Singapore – Port Klang (Malaysia) – Kattupalli (India) – Nhava Sheva (India) – Mundra (India) – Karachi (Pakistan) – Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) – (Suez Canal) – Damietta (Egypt) – Piraeus (Greece) – Genoa (Italy) – Valencia (Spain) – Barcelona (Spain) – Piraeus – Damietta – (Suez Canal) – Jeddah – Karachi – Mundra – Nhava Sheva – Kattupalli – Singapore – Da Chan Bay (China) – Busan.

An HMM official commented, “With the introduction of the FIM service, we expect to extend our reach to the India and Mediterranean trade. We will continue to expand our presence in these regions and provide more reliable services with an enhanced service portfolio.”
