HMM officially appoints Kim, Kyung Bae as new president & CEO

According to a decision that was already known, the South Korean shipping company HMM has officially appointed Kim, Kyung Bae as its new president and chief executive officer on 29 March 2022.

Kim’s appointment was approved by the board of directors and the 46th regular shareholders meeting, held at HMM headquarters in Seoul, the capital of South Korea.

Kim, Kyung Bae starts his two-year term with immediate effect, according to the company’s statement.

“Kim, a logistics expert who successfully served as CEO of Hyundai Glovis for about nine years, is regarded as a qualified leader with a range of expertise and experience at the executive level,” commented an HMM representative.

“HMM has sailed through various difficulties for a long time and finally achieved record-high performance. I feel a great sense of duty and responsibility for HMM to keep going further,” stated Kim, adding, “I will take part in this race, not as a manager or coach, but as a runner.”
