HMM returns to port of Koper after ten years

South Korea’s major ocean carrier HMM established a new link with the port of Koper in late summer, with connecting transhipment in Piraeus, Greece from where HMM provides direct services to Asian and Indian ports.

The FIM (Far Est – India – Mediterranean) provides relatively quick travel times from/to Indian ports such as Nhava Sheva and Mundra.

According to the port of Koper’s statement, HMM has a history of working with Luka Koper since it was part of a four-carrier alliance that operated between Koper and Asia from 2010 to 2012.

The inaugural FIM service sailing departed from the port of Busan on 6 August 2023, with a round-trip time of 84 days.

The rotation of ports is as follows:

Busan (South Korea)  – Kwangyang (South Korea) – Shanghai (China) – Ningbo (China) – Shekou (China) – Singapore (Asia) – Port Klang (Malaysia) – Kattupalli (India) – Nhava Sheva (India) – Mundra (India) – Karachi (Pakistan) – Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) – Suez Canal – Damietta (Egypt) – Piraeus (Greece) – Genoa (Italy) – Valencia (Spain) – Barcelona (Spain) – Piraeus – Damietta – Suez Canal – Jeddah – Karachi – Mundra – Nhava Sheva – Kattupalli – Singapore – Da Chan Bay (China) – Busan.
