ICTSI-owned Contecon Guayaquil installs Terminal Tracker into RTG fleet

ICTSI’s Contecon Guayaquil SA (CGSA) has implemented the terminal tracker supplied by Austria-based RFID and wireless sensor network provider Identec Solutions.

The tracker is expected to provide increased visibility and real-time awareness of yard activities as it has the capability to deliver accurate stow positions, container weights, and other important information to the Terminal Operating System (TOS), according to Identec Solutions.

The project was carried out in phases aiming not to interrupt the day-to-day usage of the terminal equipment and operation of Contecon Guayaquil. The implementation started with a single Rubber-Tyred Gantry (RTG) crane and was gradually carried out across the RTG fleet of Ecuador’s terminal.
