ICTSI Pakistan handles first Uzbekistan’s export shipment

Pakistan International Container Terminal (PICT), the business unit of International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) which operates in the port of Karachi in Pakistan, has achieved to handle the first export shipment from Uzbekistan.

This success underscores the strategic cooperation between the two countries, which have recently developed their trade relations and further strengthened regional business connectivity, according to ICTSI’s announcement.

From Uzbekistan, the shipment was transported by land to the port of Karachi, where preparations were made for its export to India.

PICT hopes that other countries will be inspired by this action and “take advantage of Pakistan’s trade route, which offers unique geostrategic benefits.”

Khurram Aziz Khan, PICT chief executive officer, said that “PICT is working closely with the Pakistani Government and trade partners to achieve our shared goal of uplifting the country’s economy.”

He added, “handling the first shipment from Uzbekistan positively reflects our efforts to further add value to the services we offer for all cargo handled at the Port of Karachi.”
