Italy-based shipping company Ignazio Messina & C. added a second 6,300 TEU container ship to its fleet. The Genoa-headquartered firm took delivery of the vessel in the Singapore Bay on July 29.
This vessel, renamed Jolly Bianco, is a sister vessel of the Jolly Verde that has been acquired last April, and therefore is the second largest ship of the Italian carrier.
The 2007-built boxship Jolly Bianco is 283 meters long and 40 meters wide, while it is currently manned by a crew of 23 members.
“Once repositioned in the Mediterranean in the next days, this vessel will be deployed on the route to the Red Sea, Arabian Gulf, India, and Pakistan thus satisfying growing transport demand aimed at supporting exports to the Italian market,” said Ignazio Messina & C. in a statement.
