India, Sea Cargo Manifest 2018

The Government of India (Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Custom – CBIT) vide their notification No. 38/2018-Customs (N.T.) have announced Sea Cargo Manifest and Transshipment Regulations 2018,which shall come into force on August 1, 2018.

The new regulation stipulates following key changes in timelines and requirements for the Cargo Manifestation of Imports arriving in India and Exports out of India –

  • Imports to India:
    The authorized sea carrier carrying imported goods or coastal goods, to submit Import Cargo Manifest details to Indian Customs prior departure of the vessel from last port of call before arrival in India.

    Accordingly you are kindly requested to submit the IGM relevant information viz. House Bill of Lading, preferred CFS details etc. to Hapag-Lloyd destination office at least 72 hours prior to vessel sailing from last port of call.

  • Exports from India:
    Sea carrier must submit Export Cargo Manifest to Indian Customs before departure of Vessel from Indian port of loadings.

    Accordingly you are kindly requested to submit Original Shipping Bills to Hapag-Lloyd at least 48 hours prior vessel berthing at Port of Loading.
