IRS managing director retires after 34 years

The Indian Register of Shipping (IRS), an international ship classification society providing ship classification and certification, announces the retirement of Vijay Arora, managing director, following 34 years of service.

Arora retired from his position on 30 June 2024.

During his tenure, Arora made significant contributions to the organization, demonstrating exceptional vision and commitment. He played a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of maritime safety and excellence while ensuring rapid and robust fleet growth in recent years.

To honour Arora’s career and celebrate his achievements, the IRS hosted a farewell event, allowed colleagues to commemorate his long service, share cherished memories, and extend their heartfelt wishes for his future endeavours.
