Exports from Japan to China plunged 13% to 850,474 tonnes in November 2019, registering a year-on-year contraction for the ninth consecutive month, according to figures compiled by the Japan Maritime Center (JMC) from trade statistics unveiled by the Ministry of Finance (MOF).
Seen in terms of value, the goods saw a fall of 4.8% to US$6.6 billion which also declined year-on-year for nine months running.
Meanwhile, imports from China to Japan decreased 9.3% to 1,808,972 tonnes, incurring a year-on-year shrinkage for two back-to-back months. On a value scale, they plummeted 13.1% to US$9.867 trillion, which waned from a year earlier for three months in a row.
