Jeddah Islamic Port sets new container record in October

Jeddah Islamic Port achieved a significant milestone by setting a new monthly record, handling 511,348 TEUs in October and surpassing the previous record set in July, when the Saudi port handled 491,197 TEUs.

Mawani, which is the port operator, said the record signals the successful collaboration between Mawani and its strategic partners, as numerous joint projects and agreements have been initiated to enhance port infrastructure and upgrade the box terminals.

These initiatives include the establishment of new docks with larger design depths, deepening approach channels, turning basins, and sea lanes, and installation of modern, automated, and environmentally-friendly equipment.
