Kalmar receives its first heavy electric forklift order from Innofreight

Kalmar has received an order for a heavy electric forklift from Austrian train transportation service provider Innofreight Solutions GmbH.

The purchase was placed in the Q4 2022 order intake of Kalmar’s mother company, Cargotec, and the equipment is expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Innofreight, established in 2002, creates flexible train wagon solutions for industries such as wood and paper, agriculture, and construction.

The company’s equipment is used on all three European standard train gauges in 20 European nations.

Innofreight’s present inventory consists of 60 diesel-powered Kalmar forklifts with varying lifting capacities.

“If we are to achieve our target to be carbon neutral by 2040 it is essential that we start reducing our reliance on fossil fuels now. Kalmar is a long-term partner and a leader in the field of eco-efficient electric equipment, so we are very pleased to be able to take this initiative forward together with them,” stated Peter Wanek-Pusset, managing director of Innofreight.
