Kinimatic strengthens US network

Kinimatic, an agile US warehousing and fulfillment service platform, announces the acquisition of approximately 150,000 square meters of premium warehouse space in 14 locations between Laredo and Pharr on the southern Texas border.

This increase is being driven by the expanding trend of nearshoring between the United States and Mexico, which is increasing demand for cross-border freight operations.

According to a statement, Kinimatic’s commitment to supporting the region’s increasing logistical needs is strengthened by this expansion. These facilities will serve as crucial gateway links to Kinimatic’s enormous network of over 200 facilities spread over 29 states, allowing for effective freight velocity to markets across the entire nation.

Nearshoring, or shifting manufacturing and production facilities closer to the home market, has gained popularity owing to a variety of issues, including supply chain disruptions and the need to cut lead times. According to recent data from the Department of Commerce, imports from China decreased by 25% in the first half of 2023 compared to the same time in 2022. China currently ranks third among US goods suppliers, after Mexico and Canada (Bloomberg News).

The 14 warehouse facilities in southern Texas specialise in US Customs and Foreign Trade Zone operations, which are particularly built to accommodate the surge of freight across the US-Mexico border.

The 14 Southern Texas facilities offer a wide range of logistics services, including oversized drop yards for special operations, cross-dock specific infrastructure and expertise, temperature-controlled areas for special cargo, cargo consolidation and deconsolidation expertise and infrastructure, and the ability to run large order delivery / pick and pack operations. In addition, item inspections and quality categorization, safe areas and 24-hour CCTV surveillance systems, powerful warehouse management systems with adjustable reporting, and the capacity to manage enormous loads, bulk cargo, and special heavy machinery projects are all available.
