Kombiverkehr KG starts rail connection between Rotterdam and Germany

Kombiverkehr KG is expanding its range of services between Germany and the Netherlands with a new train running between Rotterdam and Köln-Eifeltor.

In Rotterdam, the train will terminate at the Rail Service Center (RSC) in Waalhaven. The first train will depart the Dutch city on 12 March and reach Köln-Eifeltor in twelve hours.

The new service leaves on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays in both directions, while transfers to nearby parts of the port of Rotterdam are available from the continental RSC terminal. Additionally, within Germany, there are connections to Munich, Ulm, Kornwestheim and Basel. Intermodal transport is possible with P400 loading units and all dangerous goods with the exception of class 7 can be carried.

Kombiverkehr KG’s traction partner is KombiRail Europe.

“This new train product shows how we are capitalising on our network advantage. Köln-Eifeltor is one of our biggest hub terminals in Germany, with many options for onward transport both nationally and internationally,” said Andrea de Ambrogi, Kombiverkehr KG Head of Sales Benelux.
