Konecranes bought the privately held industrial and nuclear crane and crane service operations manufacturing firm Whiting Corporation, boosting its presence in the North American market.
Konecranes will get access to a large installed base of Whiting cranes, as well as new clients and growth potential for its Industrial Service and Equipment business sector, as a result of the acquisition.
Whiting Corporation employs 130 people across seven regions and it has served many clients for over 100 years, including steel mills, automotive plants, fossil fuel plants, metal service centres, and hydroelectric and nuclear power plants.
“We welcome this talented group of Whiting colleagues to Konecranes and look forward to driving together our new and exciting growth opportunities,” stated Bernie D’Ambrosi, senior vice president of Americas for Industrial Service and Equipment at Konecranes.
