Konecranes boosts VinFast’s electric vehicle production expansion in Vietnam

Konecranes has delivered five 25-ton CXT Double Girder Cranes to VinFast Auto in Vietnam, increasing the automaker’s total number of Konecranes machines to 25.

The latest order, which includes TRUCONNECT Remote Monitoring, was placed in June 2024 and is now in the final stages of testing and commissioning.

Trinh Van Ngan, Deputy CEO of Manufacturing at VinFast Auto, stated: “At VinFast, we are committed to collaborating with trusted and capable partners to achieve our production goals and expand into global markets. Konecranes has consistently proven the quality of its material handling solutions, backed by professional support services and swift responsiveness, helping us maximize production efficiency and elevate operational safety.”

To support the expansion of VinFast’s production capabilities, Konecranes equipped the automaker’s newest manufacturing facility with five 25-ton CXT Double Girder Cranes featuring TRUCONNECT Remote Monitoring.

Moreover, this advanced technology leverages sensors and connectivity to provide real-time performance and usage insights. Paired with a three-year maintenance contract, the system is designed to improve both the safety and productivity of VinFast’s crane operations.

These cranes also feature dual hoists on a single trolley and a 120-meter runway, ensuring seamless integration into the production workflow.

VanHuy Mai, Country Director for Konecranes Vietnam, stated: “The quality of our products and regular service help ensure reliable production for VinFast. For this latest order, we further leveraged Konecranes’ global manufacturing facilities to achieve shorter lead times, which proved highly beneficial for the customer.”
