Konecranes refreshes leadership team

Konecranes has announced changes in its leadership team, first by appointing Juha Pankakoski as executive vice president of Port Solutions and member of the Konecranes leadership team.

Pankakoski starts in this position today (7 September) and will report to Konecranes’ president and CEO Anders Svensson.

Additionally, Juha Pankakoski will succeed Mika Mahlberg, as executive vice president of Port Solutions. Mahlberg will step down from the company’s leadership team with immediate effect but will continue with Konecranes as a senior advisor until 7 November.

Juha Pankakoski joined Konecranes in 2004 and has been a member of the Konecranes leadership team and holding the position of executive vice president of technologies, since 2015.

“Juha has versatile experience from Konecranes and outside the company in different roles in business, supply operations and technology. He is a forward-looking leader with good people skills and a strong technology understanding with focus on digitalization, automation and sustainability,” commented Anders Svensson.

Furthermore, the successor for Konecranes executive vice president of Technologies will be announced in due course. Until then, Juha Pankakoski will continue to lead the Technologies sector in addition to his new role.
