Global logistics provider Kuehne+Nagel has announced the opening of a new Road Logistics facility in Laredo, Texas, United States.
Spanning over 40,100 m², the facility consolidates three existing cross-docks into a single location, effectively doubling capacity at the US-Mexico border. Strategically positioned, this new site aims to assist customers in navigating the complexities of nearshoring, a trend that continues despite ongoing uncertainties.
The facility features 200 trailer parking stalls, 115 dock doors, and two drive-in doors, supporting cross-docking, warehousing, transloading, and storage operations. Additionally, it includes a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) of 1,625 m², enabling efficient management of customs duties and taxes for cost savings. This expansion will enhance the movement of goods between Mexico and the United States, meeting the growing demands of cross-border trade.
Nathan Thomas, Regional Vice President for the Central Area at Kuehne+Nagel US, said the facility, set to be fully operational by mid-April 2025, strengthens the company’s network at the US-Mexico border. The additional capacity and space will provide customers with improved freight movement capabilities.
