LA port sees improved container figures in June, but H1 volumes remain low

The Port of Los Angeles moved 833,035 TEUs in June, representing its best performance since last July and a 5% decrease compared with the same month last year.

In the previous month, loaded imports reached 435,307 TEUs, down 2% from June 2022. On the other hand, loaded exports increased by 15%, reaching 108,050 TEUs. At the same time, empty boxes landed at 289,679 TEUs, translating to a 14% year-on-year decline.

During the first six months of 2023, the Californian port handled 4,137,379 TEUs, which is a 24% fall compared to the same period in 2022.
