Log-In Logística and Nautilus Labs collaborate to accelerate decarbonisation

Nautilus Labs, a technology partner pioneering the decarbonisation of the ocean supply chain, and Log-In Logística Intermodal, based in Brazil, are collaborating to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions, optimise operations, and ensure effective digital adoption across Log-In Logística Intermodal.

Nautilus’ method was first used on two container ships in Log-In’s liner fleet that had to meet rigorous estimated times of arrival (ETAs).

“We chose to partner with Nautilus with the goals of streamlining and unifying vessel data, achieving quantifiable fuel savings and reducing emissions. We were looking for a solution that allows our operations team and masters to make data-driven decisions to optimise vessel operations and adhere to strict ETAs,” said Flavio Gonçalves, operations manager at Log-In Logística Intermodal.

Both ships used Nautilus to keep their ETAs on track, utilising just-in-time arrival. The vessels were able to cut engine power while keeping a similar speed over land thanks to Nautilus’ machine learning-based dynamic operating advice.

Log-In decreased fuel usage and emissions by 3.12% across both ships and across 439 optimised sailing days. The firms have subsequently expanded their collaboration throughout Log-In’s fleet of seven container liners, and they anticipate significant value advantages from Nautilus’ fleet-wide efficiency improvements.

“Decarbonisation is a team sport, which is why it is critical that we meet our clients where they are, empowering behavioural change across the organisation by making the transition as seamless as possible,” added Diana Gray, vice president of client success at Nautilus Labs.
