Long Beach terminals reopen after battery fire accident

Port of Long Beach (POLB) reported that Ocean Boulevard and the Vincent Thomas Bridge have fully reopened to traffic with the removal of the truck and load involved in a battery fire accident at the intersection of Ocean and Navy Way.

The site has been decontaminated, according to the statement with the Los Angeles Fire Department having moved and contained the load at another location in the Port of Los Angeles.

Port of Long Beach noted that its terminals are no longer impacted by the incident.

The battery fire incident on Ocean Boulevard at Navy Way in the Port of Los Angeles, occurred on 27 September, impacted operations at nearby terminals in the Port of Long Beach. Two Port of Long Beach container terminals – at Pier T and Pier A – closed for the day shift (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) due to proximity to the fire.
