Maersk commences new feeder service between Ukraine and Egypt

The second-largest container carrier Maersk has announced the launch of a new weekly feeder service between Ukraine’s port of Chornomorsk and Egypt’s Port Said.

The starting date of the service was 16 October. The first vessel deployed on the rotation commenced its sailing from Port Said, and the first arrival to Chornomorsk is scheduled for 22 October.

“The feeder service significantly reduces the transit time to and from Chornomorsk, compared to the barge service between Constanta and Chornomorsk,” said Maersk in an advisory.

It’s important to recognize that Ukraine has gradually begun to reestablish its presence in global shipping. However, recent attacks by Russia may disturb Ukraine’s efforts to regain its lost ground.
