Maersk implements container deposit in Cambodia

Maersk will implement a Container Deposit for all import shipment into Cambodia of US$250 per container with an effective date of 15 February 2020.

The payment channel will be cash or cheque at the Cambodian Public Bank (CPB Bank) or bank transfer to Industrial Commercial Bank of China (ICBC Bank), according to the company.

Once a shipment has been cleared, the customer will have an option to utilise or to deduct the container deposit to clear upcoming shipments in case there are surcharges such as demurrage, detention or terminal handling charges.

Requests for a refund or deduction can be sent to KH.containerdeposit@maersk.com.

Maersk says that refund process will take 14 working days from the date of request.
